111GP Out of Hours Arrangements:

Kumar Medical Centre out-of-hours and weekend arrangements are with the East Berkshire Out-of-Hours (OOH) service. This service is available on weekdays between 6.30pm and 8.00am. At weekends and on public holidays, the service is available 24hrs/day.

When We Are Closed

When the surgery is closed you will hear a recorded message with the telephone number of our out- of-hours service (111). This is provided by NHS 111 (out-of-hours service) and cover is provided from 18:30 to 08:00 (Mon-Fri) and all day Saturday/Sunday and Bank holidays.

Many problems can be dealt with over the telephone or you may be asked to attend a local surgery.

Only housebound patients will be visited at home.

Slough Walk in Centre

Slough Walk in Centre provides treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, that don’t require an X-ray.

Slough NHS Walk-in Centre provides medical treatment and health advice. No appointment is necessary however they will not see children under the age of 2.
Opening Hours are 8.00am to 8.00pm, 7 days a week including Bank Holidays and weekends.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should dial 999.
A&E is for conditions that are life threatening such as:

  • Severe chest pain, difficulty breathing
  • Severe blood loss
  • Severe burns or scalds
  • Unconsciousness
  • Choking
  • Suspected stroke
  • Fitting or concussion
  • Drowning
  • Severe allergic reactions
