NHS Health Checks

Health Checks are provided for patients between the ages of 40 to 64 years to help prevent heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease. These comprehensive checks are done by the practice nurses and our health care assistant. An appointment can be made with the Health care assistant every Friday evening between 4pm-6pm.

Well Person Check

General health screening appointments can be made with the Health Care Assistant at the surgery.

Health Checks for the Elderly

Patients over the age of 75 year are offered health checks by the practice nurse. If you would like a health check, please make an appointment to see the practice nurse.

Smoking Cessation Services

At Kumar Medical Centre, we encourage patients to stop smoking and offer Smoking Cessation Clinics to help you. We offer two dedicated stop smoking clinics where one to one support is available, as well as supplying and prescribing nicotine replacement therapy to help you stop smoking.

Our practice nurse, Christine Ballinger, has been very successful in helping patients to stop smoking. If you would like help to stop smoking, an appointment can be made to see her on a wednesday in the smoking cessation clinic.

An East Berkshire PCT clinic run by a trained health care assistant is held at the practice every Monday from 12.45 to 3.15pm. Please book an appointment to see her
